Jesus the Carpenter

Sometimes I wonder if Jesus coming as the son of a carpenter has any symbolic meaning. As a carpenter himself, he has been building His church, “And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18) The materials He uses, however, are not woods but us, the living stones, “You are living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:25)
